It was nearing the end of my first year in college. Like every other college student, I was searching for summer internships without any luck. That is when my best friend calls me and tells me about this amazing internship she found, urging me to apply. Best decision I ever made.

Being a PCM student and having had just completed my first year as an Economics Honours student, I had no idea what I was supposed to do in a field completely alien to me. What I did know, was that financial markets have always fascinated me and I was eager to learn all about it.

The first two weeks were challenging for me. I wasn’t performing as I had expected and there were times when I thought “maybe I should just stop” or “this isn’t for me”. But what gave me the motivation to keep going was the fact that I want this for myself, I want to explore this field. I’m glad I didn’t stop then. Through the constant support and guidance of my mentor Mr Vishwa Kalra, I pushed myself to do better.

These past five weeks have been an amazing journey. This was probably the most productive I’ve been in a very long time. I hope to become a successful and consistent trader one day, a dream I wouldn’t even have if it weren’t for The Financial Doctors. This internship has given my future some form, which until a month ago was blurry, and I will forever be grateful for that.
