Story Of My Life So Far

Roshni Thoppilan - Intern at The Financial Doctors

I live a pretty simple life. Not saying nothing happens in it or that I do not do anything to have fun, I am saying I live the cliché life that I am lucky for. As most of the parents want their child to become either an engineer or a doctor, I landed up being an ELECTRONICS AND TELECOM engineer with seriously no clue why I was there. I just followed blindly what my parents decided for me. I managed to bag a good placement from college at Infosys. I was all excited to join my first company that it didn’t bother me much that it’s an IT company and I need to expertise in computer languages in order to survive in the big IT world. The thing which let me going was the thought that I am no longer jobless, yippee!! I have job! Was my reaction always! The joining was postponed twice but still I waited for ‘The Day’ I enter Infy as I didn’t want to forgo that opportunity for any other company! The day came almost after a year of my graduation! OMG! I just realized, I wasted a whole year! That was the sad part, but the training which I went through at Mysore Infy were the best days of my life. Awesome campus, awesome amenities, awesome city, awesome food. I still long for those! Never the less I completed 2 years working at Infy. After my 2 years I realized I was getting a very uni-dimensional look at business (was missing the big picture). I was always curious about financial markets and that was one of the reason I got into MBA Finance, N.L. Dalmia College. During my 2nd Sem, I came to know about The Financial Doctors through a friend. Why am I here? TFD gave me an opportunity to learn something which is not there in our curriculum and that made me more curious and excited. Technical analysis is so mainstream in trading line but still has huge scope and potential for further discoveries or new models and indicators to become profitable in trading. The thing I liked the most is the way it is taught here at The Financial Doctors is 20% theory and 80% practical and I really enjoy all the sessions. Everything taught is useful and important. The internship has provided a good learning experience with more of practical learning. This also provides many opportunities for us to explore and innovate on their own and thus helps in the thinking process. I am glad to be a part of TFD and would surely recommend it to others who have interest in technical analysis. I hope I give my best here and in every walk of my life.

I realize that growing up in this day and age is difficult for anyone. But I have never shied away from any challenge that has been put before me. Rather, I welcome it; I strived to be better than I was, to understand those around me and myself. In many ways I have succeeded. “Have faith in yourself and believe in yourself” is my mantra for life! What’s yours?
