My Living Dream

“Investment in infrastructure is a long term requirement for growth and a long term factor that will make growth sustainable”,

I always believe that, as you start out, while you should have a big dream - a big goal - but it's also important to move step by step. So, you know, frankly, if you ask me, when I started as a management trainee in 1984, I don't know that I really thought that I would become the CEO.

Chanda Kochar, one of the most known faces of our era and one who have set a firm position in the world’s most powerful women said these lovely words in an interview with CNN. She has been a source of immense inspiration for the whole world and especially to all those women, who had once dreamt of their dream job, despite the juggernaut of the responsibilities of their families and the upbringing of their children. She makes the girls of today believe in themselves, in their abilities and inculcates this premonition in them that they can dream big, they can achieve big. And yes, I am no exception.

Life has its unique way of developing us into what we are. Maybe that is why it is said to be your best teacher. Something unpredictable happens with each and every one of us that molds and changes the way we think, we perceive. One thing that marketing and investment demands is a proper knowledge. You can not always rely on your luck all the time. Nothing is as unpredictable as life and its unpredictability is not always a happy affair. As a child, I have heard many of my father’s friends loose hell lot of money in shares. As I grew up, I came to know what exactly had happened.

Investment is of no use if it is not done properly. And to invest properly, you need to have a proper knowledge. You need a proper knowledge about your investment, the area you are investing. People lose their money because they are unaware about 3 simple facets of investments- What to invest, Where to invest and How to invest. I, as an investment analyst would like to help the people in this regard. I guess like many of them, I know the value of the lost money. And I guess, you may be among the many more of them who might end up losing the money if you don’t know about the WHAT WHERE and HOW of investment.

Before applying for the internship with The Financial Doctors, there had been various doubts in my mind. With so many portfolios viz shares, bonds and real estate, choosing the type of market on which to invest was not an easy decision to go with. When to buy and when to sell, what amount to sell was nothing more than a basket of muddled thoughts. Studying the psychology of investors and challenging the big players is no child’s play. Analysing those charts, planning strategies will help me learn more about the market dynamism.

As the famous American investment analyst Aaron C. Brown quotes, “You need a strategy. And a trade or investment decision can be evaluated only in the context of that strategy”, I would like to enlighten the people about the strategies that they need to follow. This is where the people usually fail. I see myself helping out people with that strategy and be with an organization where my ideas and my knowledge is enhanced as well as it comes as an asset to the organization. With all the experience I gain in working with the company The Financial Doctors, I aim to do better and give an honest attempt to enhance my knowledge and try learning the other aspects of investment apart from commodity trading. I hope in the coming future, I turn out to be someone, on whom people can bank upon for their investment related issues and with my endeavor, I reach out to as many people I can.

I want people to have a feeling that investment is not a risky thing to do and neither is a gamble that you play with your money. It is just a lack of knowledge that hinders most of us in investing, for a better future, for a better life. So if you know what you are doing and how to do it, you will not repent. An opportunity comes once and I am determined to make ample use of it.
